Mission and Methodology
Shiksha Sopan is a non-governmental organization (NGO) whose purpose is to impart value- based education to economically weaker section of the society. Its various activities are spreaded in and around the lush-green campus of IIT Kanpur. Shiksha Sopan's philosophy stands on three pillars of Shiksha, Sanskar, and Swavalamban. We believe that education is not merely loading children with information. Therefore, we try our best to establish a connection of class-room teaching with daily-life activities and behaviors. With this point in mind, we keep organizing various activities that are aimed to further nurture these values.
Feedbacks
Regarding social work, people always say that ‘It is easier said than done’. Strongly negating this saying, is ‘Shiksha Sopan’ - social organization run by our IITK community. It is a pleasure to see the board spectrum of Sopan activities for the betterment of communities residing in the villages nearby to our campus. In the last few years I have been a witness to their contribution towards ‘Shiksha’, ‘Sanskar’ and ‘Swawalamban’ for the village community, children and youth.

मैं अन्तर्मन से धन्यवाद देना चाहता हूँ आपको | मेरी बचपन से ये अभिलाषा थी कि मैं समाज के लिए कुछ हितकर कर पाऊं | इसी क्रम में शिक्षा सोपान से जुड़ा था २००२ में | और आज मुझे बताते हुए ये हर्ष हो रहा हैं कि मैंने २०१० कि सिविल सेवा की परीक्षा पास कर ली हैं | हालांकि मैं भारतीय राजस्व सेवा (आयकर विभाग) में अपना कार्यभार शुरू करूँगा, मैं एक बार फिर इस परीक्षा में बैठ रहा हूँ इस उम्मीद में की शायद अगली बार प्रशासनिक सेवा मिल जाये | पर ये सब मैं आपको क्यों बता रहा हूँ? क्योंकि मेरे इस परीक्षा में सफल होने का एक बहुत बड़ा कारण हैं शिक्षा सोपान | मेरे आवेदन पत्र में मैंने ये जिक्र किया था की मैं शिक्षा सोपान से जुड़ा रहा हूँ| और साक्षात्कार के दौरान मुझसे शिक्षा सोपान के बारे में कई प्रश्न भी किये गए| जब मैंने वहाँ शिक्षा सोपान के पिछले दस वर्षों की उपलब्धियाँ बताई तो साक्षात्कार लेने वाले सभी लोग काफी प्रसन्न हुए |
